A beautiful lawn is one of the main attractions in each garden and also each owner’s pride. If you decided to give that extra bit of attention to your green carpet so it looks perfect, we are, again, here to help you.
Choose the type of lawn that suits you. Your first option is the seed lawn, which is easy to plant, but it has to be chosen with regard to the environmental conditions such as type of soil, rainfall, light and so on. Another option is the one in furrows, which is very easily planted and more durable
You have to prepare the ground by thoroughly cleaning it of any debris, rocks, roots, woods etc. After you have done this, you have to dig the entire surface using a shovel or a tiller.Grind the ground and raked it to smooth any bumps. Wet it permanently for two weeks.
You also have to use a herbicide and fertilizers. After another couple of weeks, you can start planting your seeds, depending on the soil particularities. You will need about 30-40 grams of seeds for each square foot, which need to be evenly spread on the soil you have worked on. The next steps are again raking, to incorporate the seeds, and watering. To ensure that the seeds remain in the right position, you can add about 2 inches of sand on top of the sown area.
Watering your lawn regularly is absolutely mandatory. If you are not sure how to do it or how often, please read this article and this one. Lawn fertilization should be done every other month, by using a pump for uniformity. We recommend using mineral fertilizers, based on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
Remember! Mowing the grass is not just for a neat look, it also helps strengthen the roots and the creation of new shoots. Please refer to the articles we linked above for more information about mowing.
